I chose to interview my collaborative teacher, Mrs. Lowry, I felt as if she would have the most access to the information that I would need to continue my data aquisition for my inquiry students.
What interview questions did you ask?
1.What do the students struggle with?
2. Which areas do the the students excel or show interest in?
3. What are the student's reading levels?
4. Which RtI groups are the students in?
5. Are there any other interventions in place for the students?
6. Are the students receiving any accommodations in class?
7. How do the students behave?
8. Are the students' parents involved?
9. Do the students' work well with others?
10. What are the students' learning styles?
What did you learn about your students that gave you more insight into your students?
Through this interview, I learned that two of my three focus struggle (at different levels) with writing. I also learned that my below level focus student is really interested in science. Additionally, I learned what DRA level all three of the students are at.
What ideas do you have for taking action with your student after this interview? What additional data do you need?
Going forward, I would like to see what I can to to incorporate science into my literacy lessons to play to my below level focus student's interests. Additionally, I need to analyze the running record data that I have collected on the three students and continue to observe and work to put theory into practice to differentiate instruction for all three students.
